Hi Terri,
On Sep 24th I (f) had an initial encounter with a new partner (m) . That was Sunday. No oral, only regular piv intercourse. (I cringe typing that lol). I had a strange uneasy feeling which felt like a yeast infection or BV, which manifested as cottage cheese around Tuesday 27th. I got yeast suppositories which eliminated the discharge. I decided to get a complete Std panel at Any Lab Test now which was negative for everything except Hsv1 with IGg 8 and Hsv2 with IGg of 1.5. I noted they use Access labs.
The Hsv2 was a shocker, the oral I have had since childhood as is so common.
Prior to this new contact my last was about a month before, who is std free as far as I know.
Since then I have not had blisters or sores, I have had strange discomfort that feels like burning with occasional shooting pains in vulva plus intermittent stinging and itching. This is not constant, but I know all is not as it was before. I know you’ve said people seroconvert at different rates, I’m just wondering did I seroconvert in 4 days, maybe 5? The reason I don’t question if it’s a false positive is the strange symptoms I have experienced, which isn’t yeast, and doesn’t have the characteristic BV stink…its just strange.
Is this burning sensation a hallmark of hsv2, especially the longevity of it? Is this a constant prodrome or should my GYN be looking for something else. I’m sure I’ll need to take the WB at some point.
I thank you very much
First, I am so sorry to have missed this question. I am refunding your money.
The symptoms that you had are consistent with yeast and not consistent with HSV. Your 1.5 index value has an 85% chance of being a false positive. You will need a western blot, yes
Was a condom used with this encounter?
Terri
