Hey Terri, my case is very odd. Back in June 2005 I had a quick unprotected encounter with a very promiscuous lady. She gave me oral for about a couple min and unprotected vaginal for about a minute, my penis didn’t stay erect. Around early August I begin getting extreme itching in the genital/anus area. I also saw a big red painful lump in my anus. After about a week it turned to a colorless bubble that eventually got smaller & smaller and dissapeared. I was so embarrassed that I didn’t go straight to the Dr. Then I finally went to the Dr. and got the standard std tests/Uti all negative. The dr thought I had hemorrhoids, but I never had them before the encounter. Then I had a couple of anal fissures afterwards. I started googling symptoms and thought I must have herpes. Then around Jan 2006, I had pain around my genital area for about a couple of weeks. I have been in a mental daze since then and have lived my life depressed all these years. I finally read about tests earlier this year and decided to finally get tested. Ordered an igg specific test from healthcheckusa. Both HSV1 & HSV2 came back <0.91. It’s been so many years I thought I had something, that I’m founding it difficult to believe I don’t have anything. I’m a big hypochondriac and have depression/anxiety. I’ve never had cold sores and this was my 1st sexual & only experience. Should I trust the tests and finally move on with my life?
While the IgG test Mrs. 30% of type I infection, and I cannot tell you if you might have oral herpes or not, I feel pretty certain that you can except that these genital symptoms were unrelated to herpes. First of all, new herpes would not take two months to show up. If you are infected newly, symptoms appear within 2 to 10 days. Also, your description of the lesions do not fit at all well with what herpes looks like. I’m so sad that you have waited all this time to be tested and that you have been rather depressed about this for years, though I cannot know if your depression and anxiety are related only to herpes. If you wish to be sexual with someone else at this point, I think you should go for it!
Terri
