› Forums › Herpes Questions › 2 low positive, then equivocal .91 – HSV1
Few years ago: Low positive: 1.44 HSV1 IGG (LabCorp)
Two years later: Low positive: 1.69 HSV1 IGG (LabCorp)
Three years later (today, actually): Equivocal: .91 HSV1 IGG (QuestDiagnostics)
Negative is: <0.90
Equivocal is: 0.90-1.09
Positive is: >1.09
1. I’ve always been asymptomatic
2. None of my partners (partners since my initial low positive test result) had HSV1 before or after the relationship. We did full testing.
3. I have not taken any special supplements in all of this time. I did try Lysine (or something like that) for a few days the first year, because I was freaked out, but that’s it. I only take zinc, vitamin c, other mundane stuff like probiotics.
I’ve met someone new and would like to have a fully negative result for their peace of mind. I’ve already requested the Western Blot assay kit, but it takes a week to arrive and then another 2-3 weeks for results.
Thoughts?

I think it is likely that you are not infected with HSV 1 but the IgG test misses 30% of HSV 1 infections so I’m not sure. The blot is the correct method to sort this out
