Hello. I have taken a test in :
      Quest IGG 10/2019 HSV2 was at a 2.89%
      Took during a yeast infection.
      Quest IGG 6/2020 HSV2 was at a 1.98%
      Lab core w/ reflux IGG
2/2022 HSV2 was at a 2.84% – positive reflux. Took during a bad UTI infection.

Never had a break out, never even would have guessed. Doctor tested without asking me and it’s ruined me. Since then I have felt every little tingle, every little itch, and have been looking for something, ANYTHING, nonstop – Never find anything.

      1. Should I just finally admit defeat, as the reflux was positive, or would you recommend taking the Washington state test?

      2. My numbers are higher than most of these comments and I’m assuming I should take my loss and my new reality? And maybe save some money by not taking the test? Do you know of any numbers as my own that has come back negative?

I do have one symptom. Feels like a razor burn. But no bumps/ lesions but I get that once a month. Lol which is visually when I shave or when the hair is starting to grow back. So I’m thinking its not a herpes symptom.

      3. Do you think the yeast infection and UTI would effect this at all?

NO! The CDC recommends that you get a better confirmatory test. And the western blot is the best. I have zero faith in the LabCorp confirmatory test – I’ve seen way too many people with positive LabCorp confirmatory tests with negative western blots.

I would say that there is a 70% chance that this is a true positive and a 30% chance this is a false positive.

Doesn’t sound like it to me, no.

      No.

      Quick questions:

      1) If I do have these weird proteins—- will the WB separate these from the actual HSV?

      2) I do have a high HSV1 % those were between 38-42% each test so maybe that could effect my HSV2 results.

      3) Previously up until to 2021 I was in a committed monogamous relationship for and he is negative. So would my numbers have increased if I had HSV2 while I was with him or previously (making it about 6-7 years or so that I could have had it) or would they always stay around the same % for the rest of my life?

Or am I just being ridiculous and grasping for straws?

Sometimes, not often, people with a low positive HSV 2 result, will get an indeterminate on their western blot. Sometimes that happens because they test too soon after a concerning encounter or they take longer courses of antiviral medicine that keeps them from mounting a full immune response. But the majority of the time, we get a clear answer. UW recommends that people who get an indeterminate on the blot repeat it in 3 months and if still indeterminate, believe that infection is extremely unlikely

      Yes, for sure.

Most likely the numbers would go up but not every single time.

I hope you will pursue the blot to get a clearer answer for yourself and your future partners.
