Hello, I was just wondering how long would I have to be off antivirals before taking the western blot ? I called the UW to ask them and they said there was no time because it was just confirming . I have spoken to you and I’ve done the Western Blot and my results were negative . However , now I am expecting again . Surprise ! Also surprise my OBGYN didn’t order a hsv panel which is fine because I had the western blot done and I’ve been in a monogamous relationship for 16 years . But my anxiety has unfortunately got the best of me. And I can’t remember if we spoke about this. I started thinking of the past . When I did get sick they put me on one of the antivirals, I believe it was vincyclovier. I only did one round for either 5 or 10 days . I can’t recall. I did the antiviral in February 2020. I did the Western Blot in September 2020. Do you think I need to redo the Western Blot ?

No, I don’t think you need to redo it unless you or your partner has had a new partner. You are good to rely upon the past test.

Nope no new partners . My daughter gave me hands foot and mouth in 2020 and I got it very badly . Lol that’s why the ER doctor told me it was HSV . But all my test done were equivocal , supplemental test negative . Prior to my hand foot and mouth I tested negative in 2010 (STD panel) and negative in 2014 (1st pregnancy) . Thought I was done having kids but our whole house had covid in January and well now baby number 3 is coming in October. Thank you so much for everything . 🙂
