I’ve thought i’ve had something for a while. I fell for a guy who was promiscuous. He was very open with me about who he dated, but he promised I was the only one he was using unprotected sex with. After about 3 months of sleeping with him I noticed my lymph nodes in my genital area were swollen. I went to the doctor to make sure I was okay and my doctor reassured me I was fine. I went online to find out what could have caused the swollen nodes and of course it brought up every deadly thing imaginable.I was convinced for seven months I had HIV and the symptoms of the disease started to manifest (swollen nodes, sweating, tingling, muscle pain, etc.) After months of depression I finally decided to face my HIV demon,it came out negative. I was relieved but the swollen nodes remained.I figured it was probably herpes, but I’d wait for the outbreak. Fast forward 4yrs.Nodes are still swollen. I recently dated a guy who had genital herpes. We didn’t have sex, but he did finger me. I started freaking out about 3 weeks later when I felt burning around my vagina (I was also using my brothers Suave Men 2x soap which caused a horrific yeast infection). I went to the doctor and was told I have a yeast infection. I’ve had the burning for about a month. It finally ceased (after diflucan and natural yogurt). I continued to look in my vagina for bumps. I noticed I started itching a lot (after the burning ceased) and when I scratched I noticed a small bump on the inside of my vagina surrounded by maybe 3 other little bumps. They’re flesh colored. One started bleeding when I scratched it. I looked up symptoms again on the net and started having a tingling feeling in my groin along with muscle pain in my legs. I also have a bump in the opening area of my vagina that bleeds when scratched. Is this an outbreak?i still feel the tingling now. The bump hurts when I touch it. It’s sensitive too.I’m not sure if it’s anxiety or if i truly have herpes. I’m even scared to take a test.Thoughts?

Herpes does not cause flesh colored bumps. It usually causes water blisters or you might not see that until they are open sores. Flesh colored bumps could be genital warts, they could be normal changes of the skin, the could be an infection called molluscum. Only a professional looking at them could make that distinction, but they sure don’t sound like herpes.
It seems that you have lots of anxiety around sexuality related issues. One way to approach this might be to have yourself and any partner you have contact with tested prior to a sexual relationship. Then you would not have to worry at all.
Please see your health care provider or a Planned Parenthood for evaluation of these bumps.

Thank you for your prompt response Doctor. I do have HPV and I found that out years ago after one of my pap smears. This morning the bumps were bleeding. When i say flesh-colored I mean it’s the same color as the area of my vagina, it is a bit red though. I do want to also add that I had a lot of burning prior to these bumps and a bad yeast infection (after using the Suave Men 2x soap). I was given oral medication, and a cream to apply to the area. The cream made me burn really bad. My mom suggested I use Genitan Violent to combat the yeast infection. We used that after I stopped the cream usage and the burning got worse. After I washed that off I tried the yogurt and a pill called: Refresh ProB which helps with yeast infections. I really think i’ve done myself an injustice applying creams, and medication to my vagina. I’m not sure if it caused my skin to be irritated as a result. It sort of feels like the skin around the area is irritated. Like i’ve had a biopsy done in that specific area (skin is pulled). I’ve never had bumps on the inside of my lips before and that’s why I freaked out. I will admit I was searching for bumps and have been since the guy told me he had herpes. After he fingered me I became mortified and obsessed with herpes to the point that I checked for something everyday. I’m a bit concerned because it’s bleeding and the bumps itch when I touch it. I will go and be seen by a doctor though and do a blood test. I’m so scared to even take this step but i know i have to.
I will certainly start asking for me and my future partner to be tested before any sexual activity. This will definitely settle my mind. Do herpes normally itch when it’s touched and bleed? I contacted the guy who actually had herpes and he told me he thinks i’m obsessing because he never touched himself before he fingered me nor did he have an outbreak. Thank you for any additional advice. xoxo
PS. I forgot to add the bumps feel like they’re on the inside of my skin (i can’t really feel them) they’re soft and hurts like a sore when i touch it. Feels like I scrapped my knee and then touched it.

Masturbation by fingers does not transmit herpes. Herpes does not normally bleed, no, but if you have something bleeding, you need to get it checked out in person, right away. Could you do that right away? The guy with herpes is correct in this situation.
Have you ever had a herpes antibody test? If not, you might want to consider that.

No i’ve never had an antibody test. And yes it’s bleeding. Not profusely, but it reminds me of when you scrap your leg and there’s blood on it.So I guess bleeding isn’t the right word…more so there’s blood. The itching is annoying though. It itches right on that spot. I’m not sure where to go and get this done…Just a regular clinic? Do you think it could possibly be herpes? Or an irritation from everything i’ve put on it?

I would say if you have lesions that are bleeding you should have it checked out I think a planned parenthood clinic would be a good place to go. It could be anything, I just don’t know from your description
