Good morning.
I am a male and I had protected sex with a sex worker. About 5-7 mins long. I had an open sore from a small cyst that popped and I didn’t realize it was even there until after I cleaned up. It is kinda hidden on the left side where my leg meets testicle. Not a lot of exposure aa my testicle blocks it, but it is exposed a very small amount. Because if this I am now freaking out. When I finished I took a close look at my penis and I did not see any vaginal liquid on the base of pens where condom didn’t reach. She then wiped me down with alcohol. Am I at more risk due to the sore?
I look wanted to ask about shedding. Is it the same as like shedding fur for an animal? If a woman stands over me and brushes her vagina, will pieces of the virus shed on to me and can I get infected that way with an open sore? Or do you actually still need to make physical contact with the area that is shedding for transmit virus?
No shedding in this case is different. It is simply a word that describes the virus coming to the surface of the skin and being given off. This can happen with or without symptoms.
I think the sore presents a slighter higher risk of infection but between the condom and the alcohol wipe, it seems unlikely that you were infected.
Terri
