I got an igg test done about a week ago and my results showed that i had hsv1 8.9 and hsv 1.47 with a positive supplemental, hsv1 dosent concern me as much but hsv2 does, is there a chance that my hsv2 is a false positive? I have never had sex without a condom, only oral sex, the last time i had sex before my blood test was about a month prior, and the last time i had gotten oral sex was about 5 months prior my blood test. Ive had about 5 parents but 4 of then where a one time thing, I am really anxious because i heard that the supplemental positive may indicate that i may have the real deal, im still waiting in my western blot but the anxiety is killing me

Let me explain, i have had 5 sexual partners, 3 of them where a one time thing, the first girl i had intercourse with gave me oral sex and we had protected sex, the second girl also gave me oral sex and we just did dry humping in our under wear, my third relationship was with my girlfriend, we had sex multiple times but always with protection she also gave me oral sex a couple of times, after my girlfriend i slept with a friend we had protected sex twice, a month after her i went to get tested for herpes because my penis was mildly itchy for 2 weeks but i had no rash or blisters, my dr suggested getting tested and they tested me for hsv, i got my resluts back as following:
Hsv1 igg index 8.9
Hsv2 igg index 1.47
Hsv2 igg supplemental “positive”Is there any chance that my hsv2 results are a false negative…

I think it is extremely likely that this is a false positive, in spite of the positive supplemental test. I now have 35 patients who have had positive supplemental tests from LabCorp and negative western blot tests. I would strongly encourage you to get a western blot before believing that you have HSV 2.

Im currently awaiting my WB results but ive lost hope in them, the reason is because i have an itch/tingles in the same location that hasnt gone away in a month now. I dont even recall a herpes outbreak other than a pimple that i got on my penis a while ago, the girl that potentialy gave me hsv2, i had sex with her once with a condom a year ago. Is the localised itching definitely a herpes symtom?
Would my igg be so low a year later even with symtoms? -

Many things can cause localized itching besides herpes, both in men and women!
I’m eager to see your blot results. Did you do them through me?Terri
