Good afternoon! Thank you so much for your time. I would absolutely love your help!
I’ve been reading signs and symptoms for hsv2 all over the internet but I wanted your expertise. I had over a year ago a weird sensitive pain from my right labia, right thigh down to my leg that resolved in 2 weeks. Earlier this year, my provider did a hsv2 igg and it came back positive 1.78. While, I was in shock, now I’m wondering, were these atypical symptoms of an outbreak? I haven’t experienced any lesions, pain with urination etc.
Thank you so much once again!
Your index value of 1.78 is in what we call the low positive range. The Center for disease control recommends that every person who test in the range of one point 1 to 3.5 obtain a confirmatory test and the one we recommend is the herpes of Western blot. Well these symptoms could possibly be herpes, it is my opinion that you should definitely obtain this confirmatory test so you know for certain if you do or do not have herpes.

I scheduled a video appointment July 3rd with you in hopes you could help me obtain the western blot so I figure out if these symptoms are related to hsv2. When is the best time to order the western blot from UW?
Thank you once again for all your help!
You can go ahead and order the kit at any time so when you are ready for your videoconference, you’ll be all set to get your blood drawn. I’m glad that you are following through on obtaining a confirmatory test
