Terry,
Good afternoonI had protected anal sex with a girl that has been diagnosed with HSV2, she didn’t have outbreaks at the time of the intercourse (was on her period, if t matters at all) couple days later i started having a burning and itching sensation in my pennis. Not sure if I had an allergic reaction to this heavily scented condom that never used bfore. Also her vagina touched part of my scrotum and the base of my pennies, and her vibrator touched a few second part of my perinal area.
Its been month and a half from my exposure, I haven’t been diagnosed and seen several doctors, ID, UROLOGIST…they all say it is not HSV my recent test had come back negative (know still is too soon) I was put on acyclovir right after my first visit to the doctor. Its been 8 days since i stopped the medicine and was tested yesterday (QUEST) STILL waiting for results.
I have been having tingling and numb sensations not only on my pennis, but all over my body, scalp, nose, gums, eyelids hands you name it. I dont know if I really have HSV2 and I have infected all my body due to the use of the same towel. No lumps, blisters, only burning and itching, i also had a yeast infection and a mild balanitis…My testosterone is also low which I don’t know if it could be due to the medicine for 20 days 400gm 3*day and I have red that sometimes low testosterone might cause numb and tingling sensations.
I have also seen on internet that since HSV gets in our nervous system it cold trigger tingling sensations and nerve pain all over the body.
one more thing is it possible to get HSV 2 on mouth hand be infected by kissing (no lessions visible)

The sensations that you describe of overall itching and numbness and tingling all over do not fit at all with herpes. And with herpes, I would expect sores at some point. It’s also unlikely to be herpes because you used a condom, that was very good, and even though there might have been some touching of her vagina, it still seems very unlikely that this is herpes. HSV 2 is transmitted via sex, not kissing.
Be careful what you read on the internet – many people give advice that is not correct. Before you believe what you read, be certain the person posting is well published in professional journals on the topic of herpes.

Thank you…regarding the
1.- possible autoinoculation is it possible for me to spread the virus to other parts of my body without an actual sore or blister?
2.-no possibilities of getting nerve pain due to HSV2?
3.- she said she doesn’t have hsv 1, that she has never had a sore on her mouth, however Im sure she has given oral sex to her previous partners. In this case could she have oral hsv2 and pass it to me by kissing. considering that most likely she has performed unprotected oral.
4.- How high are the chances that my blood work was impacted by the medication.
5. Have you heard about a Urine test fpr herpes done by Diatherix Laboratories, Inc.?
6. Can you recommend a specialist on the Atlanta area?

1.- possible autoinoculation is it possible for me to spread the virus to other parts of my body without an actual sore or blister?
I think that is very unlikely
2.-no possibilities of getting nerve pain due to HSV2?
Yes, people who have herpes sometimes get nerve pain down the back of the leg
3.- she said she doesn’t have hsv 1, that she has never had a sore on her mouth, however Im sure she has given oral sex to her previous partners. In this case could she have oral hsv2 and pass it to me by kissing. considering that most likely she has performed unprotected oral.I think that also is extremely unlikely because even if she had HSV 2 orally, which is very rare, it rarely sheds
4.- How high are the chances that my blood work was impacted by the medication.
How long did you take it again?
5. Have you heard about a Urine test fpr herpes done by Diatherix Laboratories, Inc.?
No, but it would suspect it is highly insensitive given that herpes virus is almost never in urine. Is it an antibody test or a virus test?
6. Can you recommend a specialist on the Atlanta area?
Sorry, I don’t now of a specialist in Atlanta.

Thank u terry,
Well regarding aacyclovir was on it for give it or take 20 days(with an inter-lapse of 3-4 days) got results yesterday again from Quest and its negative but still waiting for the value.(after 6-7 days without the meds)
Regarding the predome phase and nerve pain i have been feeling numb and tinlging all over my body, scalp lips nose, for several days now, even on eyelids… could that be a nerve thing being afected by the HSV2? I feel like my upper jaw an my scalp is numb
if it really is HSV 1/2 how long after the tingling would I have physical symptoms? been 6 weeks now after the exposure and not a blister or sore have come up, guess thats a good sign (genital/oral)

No, the nerve sensations you are experiencing are extremely unlikely to be caused by herpes, especially with no lesions. It is indeed a good sign that you’ve had no sores. An antibody test at 6 weeks would be 70% accurate – that is, there is a 70% chance that if it is negative it will be negative at 12 weeks which should be your final test. Since you took acyclovir for 20 days, I think you should wait probably 13-14 weeks to be tested to be certain that the medicine is not impacting the test results.

1.Regarding swab, is there anyway I could get swab without a physical symptom such as a sore or cut, Right know my throat is red as when i get a strep throat, could I have it swabbed?
2. I just got result from quest again it came back negative, (6 weeks after exposure) it dosent have INdex value it only says reference range 0.89 which I don’t know if its the same. the same value as the first test that I had a week after the exposure. A different test that I had on another doctor came back wit an index value of .17 Im wondering if Quest never put an actual index value or if Index value and Reference Range are the same thing,
3. Regarding the urine test that I had its supposed to look for “This panel utilizes TEM-PCR to detect molecular targets that identify:
Herpes Simplex Virus type 1
Herpes Simplex Virus type 2http://www.diatherix.com/assets/pdf/client-service-manual.pdf
4. Is there a connection between HSV 2 and Erectyle disfuction or low testosterone? I noticed that my erections are not as strong and not even have an morning erection.

1. You would have to ask a provider that you see about that- I would, but I don’t know about others.
2. Great news! So far, so good!
3. The problem with this test is if you don’t happen to be shedding virus, the test won’t pick up virus and then people don’t think they are infected.
4. There is not connection between ED and HSV.terri

1. Regarding to your post #10297, do you suggest waiting another whole 13-14 weeks? (exposure occurred at the beginning of September) so it would be best to wait till May? or the original 12 mark late November. Ill be taking Heprselct and WB.
2.Do you know where can I get the rapid test?
3.Is it possible that i could develop an herpes simplex encephalitis, due to a first episode of hsv 2 (assuming I have it) guess that could explain, the general numbness and tinlging on my face, also the muscular pain.
4.O hav a strep troath(got it swabbed), could this be a symptom of an outbreak or be triggered by the weakness of my immune system fighting the new HSV infection.

13-14 total weeks after possible exposure

I don’t know, perhaps you can google that?3.Is it possible that i could develop an herpes simplex encephalitis, due to a first episode of hsv 2 (assuming I have it) guess that could explain, the general numbness and tinlging on my face, also the muscular pain.
I think that is about a one in a million chance or less. If you had herpes encephalitis, you would be a much sicker puppy.

I don’t understand this question – I think you left something out.
