› Forums › Herpes Questions › Back and forth, low IgG HSV1, Western Blot?
Good morning!
About 5 years ago I found out the HSV tests weren’t included on a typical std panel. I asked one day and everything came back negative except my HSV 1 which was under 1.50 but above the threshold for positive. I was shocked because I’ve never had an outbreak. I had lab work subsequently ever since then and my IgG is all over from being positive one moment, negative, then positive, but never above 2. Ive gone to numerous labs. Labcorp, Quest, Sunrise and they’ve all tested negative and positive. This is very distressing to me. I started to do my own research and found the CDC recommendation for low positives to test with the Western Blot. I took my concerns to my GYN and they laughed at me saying I have herpes to just deal with it. I took it to my primary and they asked what did your GYN say?
I don’t have outbreaks and my Dr won’t put me on medicine because I don’t have outbreaks and they are concerned because I’m starting to gave a fatty liver and they said the medicine would make my liver worse.
I’m at a crossroads because I don’t feel like I have it, yet feel like I need to disclose because, what if? I’m near the Winchester VA area and I’m wondering if the Western Blot would be good to do? My last IgG was 1.51
Shame on your doctors for not supporting you doing the western blot when the CDC is very clear in their recommendations. Valtrex does not harm your liver.
I would be happy to order the western blot for as part of our study. You can make an appointment on this website, just follow the link to “get a western blot”. it’s time
Terri
