Hello,
Dec 27th. Engaged in unprotected oral with a non commercial sw. (Made contact with roof/throat of mouth Of sw)
Next day, I began to experience balanitis. Pain, tenderness, inflammation at the head & tip of penis.
1/1- I visit urgent care. I have a urinalysis done as well as 3 panel Test for: gonorrhea, chylamydia, Trichimonasis. Physician at urgent care states she “believes it’s an Sti causing pain”
1/3-I visit a different urgent care experiencing testicle pain/aches, which could be Epididymitis. I’m proscribed doxycycline which doesn’t remedy issue.I currently have reoccurring testicle pain, I occasionally feel a sting at the head of the penis.
All of this began only after the encounter on 12/27… I understand anxiety can be a contribution but I’ve found myself in anxiety filled situations many times and have never dealt with this type of pain/body reactions. The pain I’ve dealt with is very much real no matter how much I try to ignore.I haven’t had any sores, lesions, or blisters It’s hard to say if I’ve had chills because it’s winter here and occasionally I’ve found myself cold/chilly. Only a rash that appeared as peeling/flaking skin. And skin irritation below the ring of the head of penis that M.D. visually confirmed.
As of today I feel warming pain on my penis head and testicular pain. I haven’t been able to catch an erection unless really trying to master bate. I’ve been given color after the doxycycline. It hasn’t helped. Now urologist has given me 2 more weeks of doxycycline for after my cipro. Is it herpes? What do you think it could be. Now that I’ve been dealing with this for over a month. Thanks
I Understand an std may not manafest this way to cause symptoms but is there any Viruses or viral causes that could have led to my infection?? I’ve taken an HIV RNA Test(1/11/19) that’s conclusive 9-11 Days after exposure. The doxycycline hasn’t remedied the Problem. An ultrasound has already ruled out physical trauma.

The pain I’m feeling appears to be from prostatitis. I’m still suffering from Balanitis with a occasional rash that appears as if the skin is peeling. My sexual function has been impaired. I’ve read nerves can heal itself will this condition be permanent. I don’t catch erections as I used to. Now it’s only once in awhile. Now I’m dealing with cough, sneezing, runny nose. This all occurred as a result of the oral sex.

First, no HIV test is perfect less than two weeks out. However, none of this sounds anything like HIV.
And nothing that you have described sounds anything at all like herpes. Herpes has nothing to do with cold symptoms either. If you actually do have prostatitis, doxy will likely NOT be an adequate treatment and cipro may not be enough either. Have you actually had a diagnosis for prostatitis?Terri

Thank you for your response.
More than likely I should go get tested for HIV 1&2?Also, Yes. A urology stuck his fingers in my rectum and said there is inflammation. The urologist prescribed the 2 extra weeks of doxycycline after my cipro is complete. But I don’t want to keep taking antibiotics if it’s not going to help. After, the prostate test I did experience more aching pain than usually in the prostate area(Between the testicles and anus). On two occasions, the last being 2/5/19, at night I Experience lesion like areas on my penis. It’s aches and pains, I put tea tree oil overnight to mellow out what ever it may be, but they don’t blister, crust over or pop. They just disappear. 2/6/19 I’ve taken another HSV-2. I am just waiting for results.
The last time I masturbated my semen appeared more yellow than the usually clear which I’ve read can be from infection of the prostate or such.
My genitals are dark, so when I take pictures of the lesion like flare ups, it’s hard to actually see the areas of concern. So doctors don’t really see anything when I show them the pictures. They can only see the picture of the rash on my penile head. But that comes and goes as well.

Yellow semen has nothing at all to do with herpes and neither does inflammation of the prostate. The rash on the head of the penis sounds like balanitis which is also not herpes. I’m sorry I don’t know what is going on with you but none of it sounds like herpes, which is good.

Thank you, I’ve renewed my follow up.
Yes, that is good. Just wondering your opinion on what infections you think this could be. I bought a test kit from Microgen DX. They do semen analysis for over 20,000 strains of bacteria that may cause prostatitis. Do you think this is worth me taking. Since, the antibiotics weren’t working I’ve been thinking it’s viral. A part of me still does just because of the odd issues I’ve been experiencing due to this issue.
1. Is there any testing that could be done that could find out exactly what I’m dealing with? I just want to get to the bottom of this.
2.Does this sound like HPV? If not are you aware of any other viruses that could possiblilty be in the throat of a non-commercial sw?
Also, I’ve been dealing with this balanitis for a over a month now as well as my meatitis being very sensitive.
3. Is they any possiblility this will fade away? Would you recommend a dermatologist?

I guess you could do the test you purchased – I know nothing about it. The western blot is the definitive herpes antibody test, form the University of Washington.

No, it does not sound anything like HPV to meAlso, I’ve been dealing with this balanitis for a over a month now as well as my meatitis being very sensitive.

I guess it depends upon what is causing this – I’m sorry I have no way to know that right now. If you are experiencing inflammation of the head of the penis, yes, a dermatologist might certainly be helpful

Thank you for your response.
On Sat, 2/9/19 I took a 10 panel std test Everything came back negative. I saw a dermatologist on Monday. They have done a skin swab, hopefully something will reveal itself. I’ve been given Azitromycin by a new doctor. If this doesn’t clear the issue, hopefully my follow up with my dermatologist next Month will be the key. My symptoms aren’t as crucial as the start, but the skin irritation on the penis still lingers and the meatius is still sensitive. I still feel very mild prostatitis and aches in leg.
Does this sound more bacterial to you?
I ordered a MicroDX kit about 2 weeks ago, though I never used it, it analyzes my semen sample for bacteria or fungus infection for prostate infection. I will use it since I’ve already paid for it and see if anything shows up, though I’m on new antibiotics.

It certainly sounds more likely bacterial than herpes virus, yes. I am assuming that the 10 panel test included HSV 2 IgG?
Sorry, I know nothing about the MicroDX kit.Terri

Yes, HIV 1/2 HSV 1/2 Hep A/B/C Syphilis Gonorh/Chyla.
Thank you for all your knowledgeable information you have been a great help and ease to my situation. So thank you Ms. Warren.
I will try to find a caring urologist who can further assist me with my issue.
My last post is more generalized, I know this isn’t your main expertise but just your opinion would be appreciated.
1. Since I’ve been dealing with Erectile issues from this. Is there any way my erectile issues will at some point or can clear up if the prostatitis is cleared, since this issue isn’t from physical trauma?
I partly haven’t felt the same sexual desire since before and Since this issue I no longer have a Morning erection, though before it was natural every morning.
I’ve noticed my hands have stopped becoming wrinkled/shriveled when showering/washing dishes. I know it was directly related to my issues because it started with this issue and has since left. The burning I’m my feet has resolved as well, I may every once in a while feel it only in the bottom right foot.
2. Can the irritation/pain I feel on the Meatus/head of the penis be from the prostatitis?
