Hi Terri,
My daughter recently put on a bathing suit that had been sitting in a hamper for a day or two wet after being worn by a friend of mine who has genital herpes. I’m now worried herpes could’ve transmitted to my daughter.
1. Would wearing a bathing suit (that had sat wet in a hamper for 2 days) after someone with or without an active herpes outbreak be a concern?
2. My worry is that the suit was in the hamper wet that whole time. I’m not sure how wet it could’ve been 2 days later, but if it was still damp is transmission a concern?

No. The conditions are not good for the virus to live, even though it is wet. And we don’t even know that your friend could have been shedding virus at the time. I think transmission in this way is incredibly remote – I woudln’t give it a second thought.

See above.
Terri
