Hi Terri! Pleasure to meet you virtually. My question is in regards to biotin interference. Western Blot still does NOT use biotin-streptavidin system, correct? I am taking 3000mcg of Biotin (Nutrafol) and tested negative for both 1&2 via WB. Could the Biotin have caused a false negative WB?
Thank you kindly and happy new year!
Biotin does not impact the western blot, correct. I’ve checked
Terri
Thank you Terri!
One more anxiety driven question, is the reason the WB is not affected because it does not use the biotin-streptavidin system? Whereas other tests do?
Correct. Western blot is an entirely different process.
Terri
