Ms Warren,Subject White male 46 years of age had a one night affair unprotected sex.11 days after had a std panel done except herpes and hiv and the rest come back negative.7 months after the affair I noticed a centimeter sized spot on my penis head and felt physically bad.It wasn’t a bump or blister just a spot.It went away and came back again after 5 months and 9 months.Went to a dermatologist and he said it was nothing to worry about.I had it cultured and it came back negative.17 months after the affair I started to get cracks/fissures just under penis head where it meets the shaft. No blisters but ozzing clear fluid and a little bit of blood mix.Had culture done and also hsv2 igg,hiv blood test done all were negative.33 months after had hsv1igg and hsv2igg test done and they were negative.44 months after looks like cracks are getting larger and spreading.I went to the doc and asked for a pcr/dna test they did the wrong test and the test they did was bacteria and test results showed moderate growth of mrsa.So this is my info what do you think and if you need more info please let me know. Thanks for your help. What should I do?
It sounds as though you don’t have HSV 2 infection at all. Your symptoms are not consistent with genital herpes and your antibody tests are all negative. I feel that you have had reasonable testing at a reasonable time after the potential exposure to HSV. Your tests are negative. If you want more confirmation of your negative status, you could do a herpes western blot, but really, the test picks up 97 out of 100 cases, so I think the likelihood that the western blot will be are really low.
Please feel free to ask me more questions if you have them.
Terri
