Blood blisters from Valtrex use

Terri, I’m an older male and I’ve had Herpes 1 for several years. It’s on my genitals, which I know is unusual.

For an outbreak ten months ago, I took Valtrex and it helped, but within a week or ten days I got blood blisters. One was on my wrist and one on my lip. So I stopped taking it.

But now I have a single pimple-type outbreak on my penis and it’s lasted two months. It’s starting to finally go away, but I didn’t have any medicine I thought I could take. Can I take the Valtrex even though it gives me blood blisters? Or do you have a cream or anything else you can recommend?

herpes on the penis wouldn’t last for two months, I suspect that is something different. And I certainly don’t think in the remote chance it is herpes, that taking medication so far into an outbreak (which I don’t believe it is) would make any difference.

I have never heard of Valtrex causing blood blisters.
