I am GHSV2 and I have started dating a man who is also GHSV2. If we engage in oral sex could either one of us contract oral HSV2 or do we have some immunity against it. We have both had HSV2 for many, many years.
No, you are both home free! It is extremely unlikely that either of you would get herpes in a new location on your body from each other. We do not caution two people who have the same type of HSV to practice any sort of safer sex except in regards to other possible STIs, but herpes is off the table!

What if he also has HSV1? He has had maybe two or three outbreaks of “cold sores” in his life, but has never been tested for HSV1. Am I at risk for contracting HSV1 in the genital area from oral sex? Will having HSV2 give me some immunity from contracting HSV1 from kissing him on the lips? Is HSV1 contagious any time even in the absence of sores like HSV2? I think I’ve used up my allotted questions, or gone over. Sorry.
You still have another question even after this, no worries.
Once a person has HSV 2, they will very likely never get HSV 1 subsequently. I think you guys are in some ways in the best possible situation, at least regarding herpes, that you could be in terms of freedom to do what you would like to do sexually without worry about herpes.
By the way, if he has ever in his life had a cold sore, he has very likely has HSV 1 infection.
