I was diagnosed with Genital HSV-1 in 2008. I had a sore that was swabbed to verify. I recently tested positive for HSV-2. Is it possible that I have both types of herpes on my genitals? I’ve heard this is extremely rare. Could the HSV 2 result actually be oral?
My HSV 2 IGG is 6.40 and my HSV 1 IGG is a 34.6.
Am I a candidate for a possible false positive on the Western Blot for HSV 2 even though my IGG range is above 5?
I believe that we spoke on the phone just a few minutes ago. We’ll get the results soon.
Terri
