Hi so I’ll get straight to it on March 17th 2018 I had a sexual encounter with a HSV-2+ woman. We made out and I fingered her then as we rolled over we kissed more and I was going to insert my finger anally so I licked that same finger for lubricant but never put the finger in my mouth again after that. what are my chances of contraction she told me she hadn’t had an OB in a while and didn’t feel any signs of one oncoming during this interaction I never touched my penis but now there is a bruise looking purple spot in my urethra it has no pain at all and I don’t have any other signs or symptoms I’ve been tested since the encounter but it was less than a week after the exposure so it could likely be a false negative just wanted your take on the situation. Basically what are the odds of the vaginal secretions on my one finger passing the virus via my mouth. Thanks in advance.
The experience that you describe does not present any risk at all for acquiring HSV 2
Terri
ok thank you so much for the prompt response could anxiety be causing the tingling sensations I feel at times I tend to overthink things but I think this is a case of that. And lastly is it true that it takes an actual amount of the virus to infect like a fingers worth is likely not enough?
It actually takes quite a bit of virus to infect someone and the finger skin is too thick to penetrate.
You are likely over-observing every tiny symptom, yes
Terri
So just to clarify it is unlikely that there was enough infection in her vaginal secretions on my finger that I licked to infect me and also considering it’s been nearly 6 weeks shouldn’t I have obvious symptoms by now?
Not only extremely unlikely, out of the world unlikely!
I understand that you are worried but I do not believe that you need to be worried at all.
