Long story short, another child hugged my child and squished her cold sore against her forehead. The other child had blisters. What are the chances of her catching the virus this way? I’m concerned about this for her and I have a baby at home.
Thank you
The transmission risk here is very low because the skin of the forehead is too thick for virus to easily penetrate. I would be very surprised if this results in an infection for your daughter.

Follow up questions:
1)Does it matter that is was at the top of forehead into the hair follicle area where she doesn’t have much hair?
2) It has been 4 days since the occurrence. She threw up today and has a slight fever. Could this be any indication of an hsv infection? I know it’s probably a stomach bug but i didn’t know if this could be part of an initial hsv 1 infection. Thank you

No, the skin of the head is too thick for virus to penetrate, even in an area without much hair

No, vomiting is not a sign of a new HSV infection. She likely has, as you suggested, a little stomach bug.
