Hi terri I have been diagnosed with hsv2 1 week ago prior for about 4 weeks have has burning light itching no sores just a bump 3 different doctors told me it was not herpes. Last doctor daid it was bv. So I went about my everyday things I have a son . And also my best friend has a little girl whom I adore I have her every now and again she and my son would drink after me lay on my bed , etc. I do get kisses from her . I am terrified I can pass this to my kids her mom texted me last night said both her kids look like that have chicken pox it’s on there arm and she has a bump on her eye . I am freaking out . Please help.

So you were diagnosed with genital HSV 2? How were you diagnosed with HSV 2? Swab test, blood test?
The children are NOT vulnerable to your HSV 2 infection. HSV 2 is a sexually transmitted infection. Whatever the little girl’s bumps are they are NOT HSV 2. Let me know about your diagnosis, OK?

Hi Terri I think I have another question . I’m still freaking out about my friends daughter who is 2 we are very close she is my world she has had little bumps on her face and eye some on arms her mom took her to the Dr. Dr.said looked like bug bites then said it was hives . Since I found out I have Hsv2 I haven’t seen her I’m to scared I miss her so much . I think I have had hsv2 for awhile never had any sores yet but a couple weeks ago I did have a single bite on my calf then another single one next to my knee then another single one on my thigh that is all I have ever experienced they did itch for a day looked like a big bite had a little dot in the middle me we scabed or anything. I don’t know if that was an outbreak or not . My concern is my little girl . We would share food drinks give pecks on the lips take naps together . Is it possible I have hsv2 orally those are the only sores I have ever gotten since I was younger thank u

Forgot to mention I’ve read post on med help and people talk about there kids having it . I don’t Know what to believe .my little girl wanted to come to see me today but I didn’t let her . Feel so bad I’m like a second mom to her I cry everyday praying I didn’t infect her somehow also if she did get infected would she be sick at all like flu or anything. Sorry Terri I am just so sick to my stomach

I’m not sure how to reassure you more about this child that you are clearly loving. You are NOT NOT NOT a risk to her! This is a genital infection. If people could easily pass this to children, don’t you think we would hear about this all the time? We never do because it doesn’t happen. You can take naps together and give her pecks on the lips.

So people on MedHelp say that their children acquired genital herpes from them? That is total and complete bull. Give me the reference, I want to look at it. And let me ask – do you really trust some person who writes on MedHelp vs. a person who has 30 published articles on herpes in prestigious journals? If yes, that makes no sense at all.

Your irrational fears are impacting the life of this child. I would strongly suggest that you get some professional counseling around this issue. It is no longer just impacting you.

Yes Terri I believe you . I just typed in can children get hsv2 on the internet and med help popped up . I just don’t understand what is going on with her she was diagnosed with staph infection she always has blisters in her diaper area aleast that’s what the drs say it is. Her dad also has had staph infection . But she has never had any blisters anywhere else until lately on her face . She has a 5 year old brother never problems but I’m not as close to him . She hasn’t been sick or anything just runny nose . What if I have hsv2 orally does that change anything . I was doing OK the past week wasn’t worried but then her mom said she has bumps I freak out . I totally trust your opinion. It’s weird because I know I get cold sores already that can be easily passed and she has never had anything on her lips. I’m just over thinking . I appreciate everything you do .
