Hi. I went to Labcorp this week to get a full STD panel and I came back with Chlamydia Positive and HSV 2 positive. I have tested positive for chlamydia in the past, cured it, and then tested negative for it. I tested just because but I have no symptoms, sores, ulcers, or tingling in my vaginal area.
These were my results for the HSV 2:
HSV 2 IgG
15.10 (index: 0.00-0.90)
ABOVE HIGH NORMALI was reading that when you test positive for one STD especially gnorrhea or chlamydia, then it will alter herpes false positives.
I am taking the medicine for chlamydia, but what are your thoughts?
My partner showed negative on his HSV test, and I also have tested negative before this positive chlamydia test.

He also cheated on me before multiples times and that’s how we got chlamydia last time. Don’t know how we got it this time. So honestly us having clear panels last time we got tested doesn’t make me feel better because he has stepped out before.

That’s a pretty high positive to be a false positive. The highest false positive I have seen is 17 and I’ve only seen on that high personally. I think it is very likely that you are infected. But you could certainly do a confirmatory test if you wish,
Having chlamydia does not have any impact on a herpes antibody test. Wherever you hear that is mistaken.
You say this partner of yours tests negative on the HSV 2 IgG test? Did you see that? Have you ever had other partners in your lifetime?

One of the doctors that read my results told me that since it was an IgG test that it measured antibodies that could be affected by other factors. I’ve been with my partner for 6 years and did have previous partners before him. Have always tested negative for HSV 2. I forgot to add that our February panels were clear for HSV 2 and all other things.
My iGg on 4/10 was 15.1. On 4/17 it was 101.
Currently taking the Chlamydia pills.
Why did the iGg jump from 15.1 to 101? I understand it is asymptomatic, but I have no visible lesions or outbreaks, flu like symptoms, or any other symptoms associated with HSV 2.

Wait, I’m confused. Are you saying that you and your partner both tested negative for HSV 2 in February of this year and now you test positive at these high levels? I have never ever seen a value as high as 101. Are you sure you aren’t missing a decimal point somewhere? Does your partner also test positive?
