Hi Terrie,
I plan on getting Western Blot soon to ease my mind, but I have had several blood HSV with negative for both 1&2 and since my last negative, no sexual partners including kissing.
I have never had cold sores that I know of and according to negative blood tests, 70% chance I don’t have them.
I have ocd so it’s difficult for me not to obsess once I get started on something. Working through it though. So today, I woke up today with what looks like a black head on my lip/lip line. it is on the red part but what I assume to be my vermillion border. It is not on the mucuousa part but not on my flesh colored skin. To me, I guess it is the lip itself and not the border. I am unsure. I do have a lot of fordyce spots and it appears to be one of those maybe enlarged and clogged?
No pain, no prodromal symptoms- I had a bad migraine few days ago but those are common for me and I started my period. No burning, tightening, itching or pain. Not blistered. Not clustered. But singular, small, red, black center I suppose on the lip close to the border of the lip. I have been touching my face alot more with my hands and we no longer wear masks at work so I find myself resting my hands on my lips/face more out of habit. So I suppose more bacteria in the area. I also have dry lips right now too because I have not been good about water intake. I do feel it’s a little more red because I have been messing with it. I only noticed it today. I just can’t get the thought out of my head because it’s on the lip at the bottom near the lip line but a little bit above it from reading the forum anything on the lip is probably herpes. and anything on the lip line or below could be herpes or something else.
Does this sound herpetic? Can fordyce spots become clogged? Can a blackhead occur on the lip near the lip line? Is everything on the lips cold sores?
I don’t have a primary care and would be embarrassed to go to hospital or urgent care I don’t have an established dermatologist

so to summarize. Wed looked in mirror and was like what is that?? I picked at it and it got reddened. At night did warm compress, face mask clay that I applied then honey overnight. In morning can’t see unless I got zoomed into the mirror and it looked just like a tiny tiny red bumpPretty much resolved itself by friday/day, but I can still see what looks like an enlarged fordyce with like black spec on it. So it never got larger, never filled with fluid, no pain, no crusting over that I can tell. Just like small red at first, black center, then red bump resolved and now just like enlarged fordyce looking with some dry skin/ black ish hue perhaps but it’s not scabbing. Cannot see it unless i’m zoomed into the mirror again. I guess its location is what makes me nervous. now that the redness is gone, appears very bottom of lip at almost or on the lip line or vermillion border.

This sounds nothing at all like a cold sore to me. Not at all.
