Concerned and waiting on HSV test but it’s taken 2 weeks and nothing yet. Had mild tingling when urinating for a week, fever of 100.2 a couple days. Tingling stopped and now notice a tiny red spot on penis shaft. Grown slightly over past 6 days but could be from touching it. Tried to pop because thought was pimple. It’s Painless even when manipulated (unless squeezed). Also have white spot on scrotum- it’s a little hard and had a hair growing. Plucked hair and bled a hit but not healed or changed over 6-7 days. Painless also but skin irritated in the area. STI tests cleared so PCP wanted to check HSV to be safe. I have oral HSV-1 already. New partner in past 6 weeks and symptoms began within a few weeks. She had clear STI tests (but no HSV test). No symptoms.

First of all, six weeks past encounter is not enough to be certain that you did not contract HSV 2 (via antibody test). You need to wait 4 months for that. Secondly, is the first picture from the scrotum? That looks very much like a sebaceous cyst. The penis bump does not look like herpes either. It’s hard to know what’s what when there has been picking going on (no worries, everyone does it), it just makes it much harder to know what’s going on. But just from these two pictures, nothing so far looks like herpes to me. Have you had a herpes antibody test in the past, for HSV 2, to know if you could have been infected a long time ago with HSV 2?

First pic is scrotum. That’s unchanged and could have been there for a while. I just noticed it. Penis bump only got bigger yesterday but I’ve been messing with it and popped it like a pimple. I had an HSV test 2x since my ex-wife had a symptomatic. I was tested around the time we married and then again several years later. It’s been 5 years but I’ve never had symptoms and my PCP said if it’s been 10 years of unprotected sex with wife, changes are very low I will ever get it from her. We split a year ago and new gf is first unprotected sex since with (following STI tests we thought were clear but never covered HSV- sigh). PCP wanted to run HSV test when gonorrhea/chlamydia was negative but tingling when pee continued after antibiotics. It’s been 2 weeks though and test not back yet so I got paranoid and concerned while also noticing these bumps- which may be new or old. I would not have looked otherwise.

There is just no reason that I can think of why your test would not be back yet. The blood screening test only takes a couple of days usually. What lab did it go to? Did your doctor say they would call you with results? If yes, I would just go ahead and call them on Monday. Was is it swab test or a blood test?
