I was diagnosed with HSV-1 in 2017 with an IGG blood test; no index level was given by my doctor. I am asymptomatic and have never had an OB.
This past February 2023, I was diagnosed with HSV-2 with an IGG blood test and have been asymptomatic so far.
I went to Quest to get a confirmatory HSV-2 IGG test, and my index level was 4.
Should I consider getting a Western Blot for both HSV-2 & HSV-1?
Hi Terri,
Also my % Inhibition is 89.3 H
Thanks for having this question form.
Since we have seen positives on the inhibition assay and negatives on the same sample be negative on the western blot, I would recommend the blot to be certain.
Terri
