Hi Terri,
On Jan 19th I might have had a sexual experience(blackout). Fast forward about 2weeks I noticed small reds flat lesion on glans. Went to clinic about ten days later. The thing looked exactly the same. No blister, not itchy, not painful. Doc said it could be herpes but looked like a wart. Have HPV history. Too long had passed to swab anyway. She prescribed Imiquimod cream. Also had my physical recently and MD said it’s not Herpes, looks like wart. Cream has seemed to get rid of it or it’s herpes and just gong away on its own. The thing that scares me is the burning sensation in my buttocks on an off over last 2 weeks. I had igg separate for Hsv1 and HSv 2 at 5 weeks both less than .2. Negative for that test is less than .89. I also had a test for both week 6. That also negative. That test have no number just that it was less than .89. I have also lost weight over the last two weeks and have had extreme dry mouth and 0 appetite. No new lesions. Should I be confident with an igg at 12 weeks? Any other thoughts?
Thanks for all you do
Also I have a history of cold sores but my it did show in my igg. What’s that?
I meant to say it did not show in my Igg
The IGG test for HSV one Mrs. 30% of infections compared to the Gold standard Western Blot. Your symptoms don’t sound herpetic to me. Warts and herpes present completely differently. I doubt very seriously that someone would get those two things mixed up. I don’t know what might be causing the burning in the buttocks but this does not sound like herpes to me. You should also know that the IgG test Mrs. 8% of HSV two so I can’t provide me with 100% certainty that you don’t have HSV-2 except your symptoms don’t sound like HSV-2
Terri
Could cold sores show up after being dormant for years?
