› Forums › Herpes Questions › Confused about blood test results
10 weeks ago I had a positive IGG of 5.95 asymptomatic I just got a follow-up PCR blood test and it’s showing negative for both hsv1 and hsv2. Does this mean I don’t have it? Both tests were done through LabCorp and I’m just trying to find out how accurate either of them could be?
It’s kind of frustrating that I’ve been waiting for 5 days for an answer I understand that vacations happen and things come up but it would be helpful that was posted I already got my answer from my primary care so I don’t need an answer anymore it would be nice to have my $25 back
Sorry I missed this, I’ll be happy to refund your money.
The PCR from blood should never have been done – HSV is not in your blood.
The 5.95 is pretty high but I have seen false positives at this level. So if you’ve never had symptoms, you might want to consider confirmation.
I don’t know what your primary care provider said about these two results being different, but if they are they ones that ordered a blood PCR, they made an error.
I tried to refund your $25 based on your email, but was unable to find that transaction on PayPal
