I have a friend with benefits. We don’t mess around to often but it did happen twice two weeks ago, on Saturday and Monday. She hasn’t had sex in 4 years, and our fun was always with hands or oral.
Monday last week we finally had sex with a condom. We were drunk and it was kind of rough. We also did some foreplay after.
She broke out in bumps on her vagina a day or two later. Went to the Dr on Friday and got a bump swabbed for Herpes.
Her results came back positive Hsv1, negative hsv2 on her app. I thought we were good but now she wanted to know if its not herpes what is it, so she called and her obgyn and she said it is herpes.
I didn’t have a cold sore. Shes never had a outbreak other times we messed around. I’m stick convinced its a allergic reaction to latex, possibly BV or maybe friction burn can cause blisters.
Shouldn’t a negative result for HSV2 mean she doesn’t have herpes?
HSV one can certainly cause genital herpes and it is most often transmitted by receiving oral sex, even if the giver of oral sex does not have a cold sore at the time. If the swab test was positive for type one, then she has HSV one genital infection. Your idea that it’s an allergic reaction to latex is an error.
Perhaps you are unaware that genital herpes can be either type one or type two.
Terri
