Hello Terri,
I am a little confused on my lab results and would like your opinion. Here is a little history on my situation.
Last 3 weeks of March 2022 had irritation before urinating (not while urinating), constant need to urinate, irritation at end of urethra. First week went to virtual Dr. and got antibiotics. Second week had covid and urinating symptoms calmed down. Third week symptoms came back, went to regular Dr for further testing. Was put on additional antibiotics and Acyclovir for a week I believe.
Test results:
4/5/22
Lab*orp
HSV2 IgG Negative
7/6/22
Lets*get*checked
HSV2 IgG 2.37
7/7/22
Quest

Low positives with a negative supplemental / inhibition. Am I positive for HSV2?
I do not think that you’re positive for HSV two but your post is just a microcosm of the issues that we’re dealing with regarding these poor IgG test for HSV.
Terri
Thank you for your response. It has been a long year dealing with the uncertainty. When a person is HSV2 positive does their IgG number usually go up over time?
usually, but not always. Of course a western blot would clarify for you, but with these kinds of variations, you could also get an indeterminate blot which would just frustrate you further.
