Let me start by saying I have no symptoms. I took a standard STD test through stdcheck.com with confirmation through healthlabs.com – results below with multiple follow ups:
8/30 and tested positive for a UTI, trich, HSV1 (Igg 2.36) and HSV 2 (Igg 1.44).
9/1 confirmation testing – PCR Blood test negative for both HSV
9/12 follow up for trich/UTI – negative and positive for HSV 1 (Igg 1.78) and HSV2 (Igg 1.56)
9/20 confirmation testing – immunoblot – reference interval – Negative – BUT – it said
“HSV-1 IgG Antibody Positive / HSV-2 IgG Antibody Positive. These results indicate prior exposure to both Herpes Simplex 1 and 2”
The doctor consult told me I have both HSV 1 and 2 and to take the prescription. But he also said the test is not very accurate and to keep testing every 4-6 weeks for the next 6 months to see it the numbers move. If they go up, I’m positive. If they go down, I’m negative.
Can you shed so light on this?
Just following up. I’m really confused
