I received test results for HSV2 yesterday 12/7/15 the Igg was positive with 1.38, I was tested in July 2015 and it was negative and I was tested in February/march 2015 and it was positive 1.10.
I have never had an outbreak, use condoms religiously and I have read that this low of a positive could be a false positive. Do you think it could be the case that my positives are false positives?
Also, I was wondering if having a shingles outbreak could have an affect on the results? I am experiencing a shingles outbreak currently and it had started before I got my last test.
Thank you for all of your support and I look forward to some feedback.
You are experiencing a shingles outbreak? Have you had more than one of these? Where is it?
Your value is a low positive and could be a false positive. In fact, there is a 85% chance that this is a false positive. You need western blot confirmation of this result. Our clinic can order that test for you to be drawn at a lab near where you live.
Let me know about the shingles. And no that would not cause a false positive or this low positive
