Contracting HSV1 from Vape

I am 49 years old, take Enbrel (lowered immune system) and also suffer terrible anxiety (especially over health issues).

In a moment of stupidity, took one quick puff off of someone’s vape pen (they wiped it first but I don’t know them) after they said “they don’t have anything” to try the flavor. However, the inside of the vape pen has an opening that where some vape juice accumulates so it’s wet inside there.

Since then, I’ve been freaked out at my chances of perhaps contracting HSV1 from this situation. I’ve had some burning areas around my mouth, one little sore inside my mouth and have read far too many things on catching HSV1. I do get canker sores from time to time but I’ve read that a first time HSV1 infection can cause sores inside the mouth as well.

My anxiety has a way of making me feel symptoms even when there isn’t any but I’m looking for any information you may have on contracting HSV1 as an adult with a lowered immune system from something like this?

Can I stop worrying?

I think it is highly unlikely that you would contract HSV 1 from this situation with vape pen, though I cannot be 100% certain. You could have had HSV 1 prior to that. You could get a western blot for clarification, you could have a sore that develops in your mouth swab tested for HSV or you could put this worry aside. I think those are the choices.
