Hello Terri,
I recently got involved with a woman who told she was HSV2 positive. We made out heavily, and I fingered her, I also gave her oral sex but used a dental damn. She did not give me oral sex only kissed around my groin area and never made oral contact with my penis. There was no intercourse. I may have inadvertently touched my penis with the hand I used to finger her. Six weeks later I took a 10 panel test. The day I drew blood, I had a cold sore. I was also had been experiencing some occasional itching on the shaft on my penis. My results came in:
16.2 HSV 1 High
<.91 HSV 2 Negative
It has been 7 weeks and I still have some occasional itchiness but nothing else.
My question is, my HSV1 result was extremely high, which I think may be due to the active cold sore, but could thst skew my HSV2 result higher?
I am just concerned because my <.91 is on the high end of the negative range.
I forgot to mention that I have had cold sores since I was a young boy.
your index value of <.91 does not give a value - it is simply less than .91 so it could be .90 or .01 - there is no way to know but you are negative and that is what matters. In addition, your contact with her presented no risk at all. Terri
