I have had HSV 2 for almost 2 years now. I have had one maybe 2 outbreaks and have been on suppressive therapy for a year with 0 outbreaks. Learning to trust the medicine has been hard but I’m there.
Now that I have had Covid I am nervous that suppressive therapy won’t conquer a breakthrough. Am I pretty well protected with 500mg a day for the week as usual to prevent outbreaks?
If I were you, and I’m sorry I missed this question, I would increase your dose to 1000 for a week or so. it is safe and will help if your immune system is challenged by COVID

Thanks for the reply. It’s now been a week and I had no obs. Still have no taste or smell. Should I still take 1000? Or do you think I’m in the clear for a breakthrough? I got tested positive for Covid September 27. Tested negative October 4.
I think you are in the clear now. Not necessary to increase your dose at this point.
