With all my reoccurring cracks/fissures coming and going and all the negative cultures and blood test does it sound like herpes or hiv?Would a dna/pcr test do any good?Would the mrsa have anything to do with the cracks/fissures?Thanks for your help.
It does not sound at all like HIV, no. And usually MRSA does not present with cracks or fissures usually. If you are worried these are caused by herpes then yes, having one or two PCR swabs around to gather the next time you have this would be quite useful. It will help you sort out if these are herpes. A negative PCR might be very reassuring for you. You can ask your health care provider if they would allow you to do that. If not, the clinic can ship you swabs and you can return them to us. Each swab costs $75.
