In June of this year I tested positive for HSV-1 and negative for HSV-2 via western blot, Which is in line with previous HSV test I’ve taken in the past. Since my last test I have received unprotected oral sex from 5 CSW’s and Unprotected oral sex and analingus from 1 CSW. I did not perform any acts on the CSW’s.
1. Did these exposures put me at risk for contracting genital HSV -1 or genital HSV-2?
2. If I have unprotected sex with my new girlfriend am I putting her at risk? She is HSV-1 pos and HSV-2 neg as well.
3. Should I be tested again because of these exposures or is it safe to proceed as normal?
The risk from oral sex is HSV 1. You already have that and if you’ve had cold sores in the past, the risk of getting this in a new location is remote at best. And if you have HSV 1 genitally, you aren’t going to get it again. Since your partner is also positive for HSV 1, I think you guys are all set to go.
