Hi. Back in August I lost my virginity and we used protection. I felt fine of course dealing with some soreness after being a virgin. I was fine. In November I became sexually active with a new person we always used protection I want to say the fourth time we have intercourses a few days later I became extremely itchy and uncomfortable. The sex can sometimes be rough but not really. A few days passed and the itchiness was became unbearable. I went to the doctor I was producing lots of discharge very clumpy and I also had pain and what looked like a rash. My doctor told me I had a yeast infection and prescribed me the pill which cleared it up completely. About three days later I had intercourse with the same guy again. The following days I became itchy as I did previously I was getting the same discharge as well. Luckily my period came and it cleared up everything I guess the yeast infections came from not properly cleaning down there. Recently we had sec I’ve been skeptical about his history. I went to go get tested and the clinic I went to included everything. My tests came back negative for everything but said I was positive for hsv 2 with an index of 5.29. I have never had symptoms for Genital herpes in my life and my sexual history doesn’t match in my opinion I told my partner and he said he tested positive fours years ago back in college but it was a false positive he claims he went and got tested and everything came back negative I heard at a certain point in time the igg antibodies disappear. This has really ruined our relationship because he says I must’ve been messing around. I recently went back to the doctor because now the itchiness is constant it I’ll go away and leave. I happen to now have vaginitis paired with yeast infections
Can vaginitis or yeast infection trip the blood results?
Do all people carry the hsv virus building in certain people it happens to manifest
Should I go tested again after I finish the medication for vaginitis and yeast -

The index value of 5.29 is pretty high but with your sexual history, you may wish to obtain a herpes western blot for confirmation given your very few partners. This is especially true since you’ve been using condoms!
Vaginitis and yeast infections are the same (yeast is one cause of vaginitis) – and no, they throw off the test.
I do not understand question #2Terri

I forgot to mention we had unprotected sex March 20th a week later I went and got tested. But before that we always used protection. I even gave him oral which I’m completely negative for hsv1 but I haven’t done that since January My first partner we only were intimate once. My doctor said the virus is virtually in everyone sometimes it shows and sometimes it doesn’t. Which confused me.. I did have chicken pox as a kid. But I feel like that’s unrelated
Should I retest for Hsv2 when I get done with my medication for vaginitis and yeast infection or does it even matter
Is it possible the guy just stopped developing antibodiesI think I will get the western blot I just don’t want to be paranoid because he says he’s completely negative

Your doctor is mistaken – only about 48% of the population has HSV 1 and about one in five women have HSV 2 and about 1 in 6 men do.
I wouldn’t believe the guy. if he says he had a false positive, I would question that and get the blot test for yourself.
You can test anytime – that medicine will not interfere.Terri

Hi again. I am getting my blood drawn for the western blot tomorrow. It’s taking me so long it’s imposs to find a place with my schedule. I wanted to ask could someone be born with the hsv2 virus already in them
I’m thinking maybe what if I already had the virus while I was a virgin but then I’m still confused because I was told to get hsv2 you need sexual contact and my last partner I was intimate with plenty of times minus the first guy I was with.
My questions are
1.Can you be born with the hsv2 virus
2.What is the likely good I got if from the first partner. Condom was used and we only did it once.
3.What are the odds I have a false positive with a 5.16 index. Given my partner confidently suggests he’s negative.
I don’t think I had any symptoms I just noticed some flesh like raised skin near the end of the vagina opening close to the inner labia they don’t look like they are filled with anything they have been there for a while about going on 2 months I have noticed them. It honestly just looks like skin and when I stand up and look it just looks like the rest of my private part inside. Ever since I’ve had taken the vaginitis and yeast medicine I feel bormal -

1.Can you be born with the hsv2 virus
Only if you are infected by your mother at birth and then you would normally be quite sick as a baby
2.What is the likely good I got if from the first partner. Condom was used and we only did it once.
Extremely unlikely
3.What are the odds I have a false positive with a 5.16 index. Given my partner confidently suggests he’s negative.
That’s not usually the case but I have seen it happen
