I was exposed back in march . Long story short I had sex with 2 different women in the time frame. Woman (A) who has herpes and woman( b) who doesn’t , during the 2 weeks after exposure I had sex with woman b who was discharging for the very first time after giving child birth. The following day I noticed a slight burn when I peed and it went away , but the day after, the discomfort in my testicle started to be a bit uncomfortable. I also had a very bad burning on my foreskin that lasted 2 + months I’m not sure if that was self inflicted because woman (A) and I did some dry humping this is still in the window of the 2 weeks post exposure. The following week I noticed I was having discharge from the tip of my penis, this is about 3 weeks mark, urine test came back with wbc but no bacteria, urologist gave me antibiotics which cleared up the uti . My question is does herpes give discharge in men ? And does herpes give you cramp like symptoms in your hamstring and calf? I’ve also tested at the 17 week mark and negative for hsv2 but positive for hsv1 and should I take the blot test or trust the igg test. I heard many guys say they had discharge with herpes , im not sure if that’s when they’re having a active out break. Kinda nervous that my results are wrong , i also hear that being exposed to herpes for the first time gives you a watery discharge

Herpes can cause a watery discharge in men, yes, but herpes discharge would not be made better by antibiotics – that would be a bacterial infection.
Herpes does not give you cramping in your hamstring or calf no.
At 17 weeks out, the IgG test picks up 92% of HSV 2 infections. If you are still concerned that you have herpes, you could do the western blot but you symptoms don’t sound herpetic to me

Thank you for your quick response, also I had on and off testicle pain, a burning sensation on my for skin that lasted two months and moved to my penis it’s self like the frenulum area for about 3+ weeks. Also discomfort in the groin area.

Also can you get a area you think your Hsv outbreak may appear swabbed , or do you have to have a active lesion

Hello Terri patiently waiting for your reply , I was going through the form and noticed that people who had discharge followed up with wbc , would that be a sign of new infection , I did have wbc and a discharge but cleared with antibiotics.I also had no nitrates in my urine . I tested 17 weeks post exposure and still negative. Current symptoms I’m having is twitching all over my body and discomfort around my frenulum.

THe fact that your discharge cleared with antibiotics suggests that you had a bacterial infection. Twitching all over your body is not a symptom of herpes. It also does not cause testicular pain nor pain that lasts for two months straight. You can have anything swab tested but if you swab something that isn’t a lesion, you should be sure the swab is PRC or NAAT testing rather than a culture. A negative test at 17 weeks out is 92% sensitive for HSV 2, compared to the western blot
