I’ve had my positive diagnosis for HSV2 about a year now. Ever since then, I’ve been having a clear discharge from my penis. After another encounter few months later, I noticed thicker whitish discharge without any other symptoms ( no pain, burning sensation or frequent urination). I’ve tested negative for chlamydia, gonorrhea and trich and all other main STI’s. Since the whitish discharge never faded, I consulted a urologist and she diagnosed me with mild prostatitis. I’ve had the medications she prescribed and it did not make any improvement. I still have this discharge to this day. My herpes outbreaks (3 so far) are so mild ( 2or 3 tiny bumps) which goes away in a day or two without any pain or itching.
1) Is this discharge (both clear and thicker whitish) in any way related to herpes? Could this be any rare symptom of herpes?
2) What tests would you recommend to find an exact cause to this condition?
I do NOT think the discharge is related to a herpes infection, no.
You may wish to also get tested for m. genitalium, a more recently identified sexually transmitted infection. Other than that,, I just don’t know but you may not be responding appropriately to the first antibiotic for prostatitis and will need second one.
