Hi, a bit of history.
My 2 yr old was diagnosed with Herpetic ginguvistomatitis. Hsv 1 culture positive.
Than a few months later she blew a raspberry in my race and 4 days later I had a cold sore show which has been there on and off constantly since Oct.
I may have had an initial herpes outbreak and not known as I thought it was folliculitis from waxing 10 days earlier. The bumps were big, white, raised and red. Left scars and indents and crusted over
I was having a sexual relationship with a new partner until 1st Feb when things ended. Mid March I broke out on my bottom and bikini line with a massive stingy red pimply rash that burned beyond belief. Some looked like clear pimples, others ulcers or flat red scratch marks. And on my left thigh looked like little clear, red around the outside clustered bumps. They lasted no longer than 3 days. Than went away and came back. Than went away. Dr said follicultius.
Now, 10days ago my whole vagina to anus was burning beyond belief. I noticed a small dry fissure under my Labia and only noticed as it hurt and I puller it apart to see. I had a few follicultius bumps but obviously follicultius.
Than i had unprotected sex with someone new. Worst decision I’ve ever made especially as I was still burning down there.
That night I noticed fissures on my vulvar and labia after sex. Healed after 5 days.
I broke out with a cold sore the next day after the unprotected sex from the same reoccurring cold sore.
Now day 12 my vagina is stil burning, inflamed BUT I have those clear cluster bumps back ok my left inner thigh and my right butt is COVERED in about 10 big deep pimple looking sores. I noticed 2 days ago shooting pain up my leg to my buttox leading directly to one sore.
Did I give myself herpies from checking the dry red vagina constantly?
Since my daughter has hsv 1 orally can i infect her genitals by changing her nappy if I hadn’t washed my hands correctly or accidently touched a sore?

Just an update. I tested positive for hsv1 genitally. Even though I have hsv 1 cold sores. It shows up as follicultius.
Now it looks like my 2 yr old has it. Even though she has cold sores too.

I hope that you got your 2 year old swab tested. Once she has a well established oral infection, it is highly unlikely she would get it genitally BUT there may not have been enough time for her to establish a full immune response.
I think what you are saying is that you have HSV 1 genitally and your doctor mistook it for folliculitis, right?

Correct. My genital swabs kept coming back negative. I’m week 2 on what seems to be my initial breakout. The Dr popped a pissy follicultius spot and 4 days later I got severe nerve pain, burning sensations, tingling, and sores, a temp, and I could barely walk because it hurt so much.
I think my own body didn’t have enough time for an immune response and I touched a cold sore on my self and gave myself genital herpes?
I don’t think the follicultius was hsv and this breakout is completely different.

If your genital swabs keep coming back negative, I don’t think I understand why you are devastated. I think it is highly unlikely that you gave yourself genital HSV 1. Perhaps I’m missing something here. Can you clarify?

To clarify. Tests for my daughter now came back negative. She only has hsv 1 orally. She had a bad rash which was clarified as eczema.
My Dr. tested for bacteria and fungi and it all came back negative. Which left the only option of hsv which he said may have been causing my odd genital symptoms. (Folliculitus, sore dry vagina, sometimes internal burning of my labia and inside).
The Dr than gave me a prescription of antivirals just incase. So because I felt the extreme burning and tingling coming i got antivirals early so, because of that the swabs came back negative because they skin wasn’t open enough to test postive. Even though I went to the hosp and they swabbed on day 2 of my breakout.
My Dr. Visually seen the breakout and said it is definetly genital herpes.
I am now week 3 on the OB. Sores are just starting to heal. It looks like scrapes and sore red spots. The nerve pain and burning all through my boxer short region is starting to settle.
So, because my Dr is confident it is definetly genital herpes and the pain and symptoms I experienced were of a classic OB.
He said I may have touched a cold sore, than touched my genitals. DR. Said this must have happened when I had a sore, dry vagina and because the virus had a way in, I than gave myself the virus genitally.
Prior to this Dr said I must have had contact dermatitis to an allergen which is why my genitals were sore and I looked (and must have not washed my hands) than I got an outbreak.
Or is it more than likely that I had genital hsv already and the sore, dry vagina was a version of an outbreak?
I only seemed to get the “big initial outbreak” once the bacteria and fungal swabs came back negative and hsv was the only option left – which sent me into a spiral mentally. So my point is- could have extreme stress have brought the big breakout on?
And I had both hsv 1 oral and genital just the genital was super mild until now because of the stress of worrying?
