Hello Terri, It’s me again. So I was exposed Sept 3rd and immediately had all the symptoms of HSV and what I believed to be an OB about 2 weeks after. Now after I’ve seen a urologist, Dr’s, multiple SHC’s and tested 5 times and most recent Igg 3 months after which is still testing negative for HSV2. My question is, if this isn’t GHSV then what else could it possibly be. No classic sore but rashes, itchiness and discomfort every month for a few days or a day or 2 after sex.
I kind of ruled out GHSV1 due to me having OHSV1 for many years… could I have potentially contracted it genitally somehow after all these years. If not what else could it be, last option would be dermatology but DR’s have told me they will probably say the same thing which is “this isn’t herpes and it’s contact dermatitis”
I’m still mentally totally convinced it’s HSV just because all of the symptoms align with the sources from here and online everywhere…….
I also had them swab, what I thought was lesions when they were present after begging and they barely touched it and it came back negative as well
What are your thoughts? Do I really need the western blot?
Have my test been skewed due to me taking Valtrex? I didn’t take it at the initial onset of symptoms only like a month after and have taken them periodically when in fear of possibly having a OB, I think it’s placebo or maybe it’s working and I do have GHSV… I don’t know.
Clearly, this is still worrying you and you are still uncertain about the cause of your symptoms. yes, get the blot and just rip the band aid off – find out if you have herpes or not. If you’ve taken less than 2 weeks of Valtrex, I don’t think it will impact your test results
Terri
