Hello, I would first like to thank you for your time and looking over my question. About 6 months ago my ex boyfriend performed oral sex on me and then a week later around my clitoris area I noticed a bit of itchiness and it appeared that the skin around my clitoris was peeling, no pus or fluid. I went to get a swab test and it came back negative for HSV 1 and HSV 2. A couple weeks later I noticed a paper cut near my clitoris area, no pain, itchiness or irritation and it went away in about 3 days. After this experience I have gotten a paper cut near my clitoris area about 3 more times, each time I experience no pain, irritation, itching or fluid. Also, each time the cut closes up and disappears in about 3 days. I noticed another cut and called to get another swab test done and the doctor informed me if there was no pus or fluid the culture would not be effective. Now I am wondering if my first test was even accurate since there was no fluid or pus. So, now I am wondering:
1. If there was no fluid or pus during the first incident was my test effective?
2. Do the frequent cases of paper cut like lesions near my clitoris sound like it could be herpes?
Thankyou.
1. If there was no fluid or pus during the first incident was my test effective?
Yes, if the test was a PCR, not a culture. PCR is a much more sensitive swab test.
2. Do the frequent cases of paper cut like lesions near my clitoris sound like it could be herpes?
Thankyou.
HSV 1 genitally, the kind of herpes you get from receiving oral sex, recurs very infrequently. This is not the case with your symptoms so I think HSV 1 genital infection is unlikely in your situation.
Terri
