Monogamous for @30 years and I am sure my wife has been too. Now I am fairly certain I have genital herpes based on rash/lesions. Going for testing later this week and I hope to antiviral meds. But could my wife or I actually have had no symptoms for this long? Or could I have had outbreak before and not noticed? It is a stressful time in my life.
You could definitely have been infected for 30 years and are just recognizing outbreaks, especially if for any reason your immune system is being challenged. Have you had the lesions swab tested? That is the best way to make the diagnosis but an IgG antibody test is also good. do not get an IgM blood test. Your wife could also have been infected all this time and didn’t know it. Don’t go jumping to any conclusions about fidelity here.
