I had unprotected intercourse june 11th , we both got tested two weeks later ( quest ), I got tested on june 23rd my results HSV 1 :8:35 HSV 2 negative , my partner results HSV 1 : 32 , HSV 2 : 1.17 positive , we both have been shattered and depressed after finding out his results he has never had any Symptoms or breakout he get tested yearly but never had a full panel completely , prior to me he has been celibate for 5 months and prior to that he has been with one female for 14 years , my partner got tested with labcorp it was suggested that he get an confirmation test done because of an high change of a false positive , he completed a comfirmation test on Friday results will be in on Tuesday , however this was after I did some research and found out about the western blot test and it’s the most accurate , should my partner disregard the confirmation results when they come in? We have ordered the western blot kit and it was stated it will be Mailed out on Tuesday , we have a appointment set up with you this Wednesday , I’m such a nervous rack I have been so depressed ever since his results came in no sleep , barely eating.
Currently waiting on Terri to reply hopefully I ordered correctly to have a response
You only posted yesterday and today is a holiday but due to your email to me, I am answering this now. You are doing the right thing in getting the western blot. it is very likely a false positive. He should not have the blood drawn any sooner than 12 weeks from the time he last had sex with anyone but you.
