      Hi Terri

I am terrified of having had contracted HSV1 on facial area.

On Wednesday (3rd of March 2022) I went to the salon to get my eyebrows done. I am a bit of a extra clean person and I always noticed they use the tweezer, brow brush and scissors without cleaning. When it was my turn, I brought out my alochol spray and sprayed that on the lady’s hands (the one that was supposed to work on my face) but she did not rub her hands she actually was making fun of me obsessing, and sprayed on the tweezer, brush and scissors.
After that, I insisted on keeping my face mask on because I don’t trust her hands cleanliness. She puts one piece of the thread inside her mouth and stretched it and worked with both hands down on my two eyebrows. She was also talking on top of my face and I was panicking from that spit landing on my face. She continue the threading of my eyebrows (which was painful and she actually injured a part of my skin small scratches) and she then got her tweezer, by touching my eyebrows skin with her fingers ( where she injured and scratched harshly with the thread) and bulking hair out, and wiping my eyebrow area with her bare fingers ad hands repeatedly, so her bare fingers were wiping on my inflamed skin newly threaded skin that was of course a vulnerable entry to her most likely unclean hands.

After I finished I ran in 1 minute to the sink and hardly washed my face twice with a lot of soap and foam and dried my face clean

Before leaving, I noticed a raised red area on top of her lip (middle) but no crusting or oozing or scabbing. I asked her what that was and she said “herpes, I had a flu last week and this appeared and I scratched it last week by mistake and it was bleeding a lot”.

I panicked like hell out of the place

Note: last week, on the week she claimed she has a flu with the sore bleeding, my sister visited her for threading, but my sister did not grow any symptoms.

I never had a sore my whole life and never. I am obsessing, please help.

Can Eyebrow Threading Give You Herpes? Khloé Kardashian Thinks So

I am scared of what I am reading here. Many websites agree that it is possible to have herpes throw eyebrow threading. But also the thread in her mouth is not the part that she threads with, the other end, but what if her hands had saliva while she was wiping my broken skin with her hand directly? What if she itched her sore and then used the same finger for threading on me?

I am drowning with paranoia now

I think you are likely overly worried about a very low risk experience. From you post, it looks like this happened about 6 days ago now. The average time from infection to symptoms is 5.5 days. Are you saying that the part of the thread she had in her mouth did not come in contact with you? If that is correct, then there is not a risk of acquiring HSV from her intact fingers because she cleansed her hands with alcohol, is that correct? While I do understand the concern of her touching her face and then touching your eyebrow, it seems like as concerned about this process as you were, that you would have noticed that after she used the alcohol, is that correct?

I don’t get medical advice from Kloe Kardashian.

Terri thank you for answering me

No the part of the thread in her mouth is just to stretch the thread and she works with the other end of the thread on my skin

Yes I tried to spray alcohol on her hands but that was very little and she did not really rub her hands

I did not notice anything on her fingers

I did not have any sores until now

Please reassure me I am very concerned and scared to death from this I am over inspecting my face every minute and I am so concerned my life collapsed after she said she has herpes

      Hi Terri,

I am sorry I want to clarify something, I think you misunderstood the link I attached, I never compared your precious and well-respected impressive 33 years in this topic ever with people outside the field, it is just inside the article the writer reported opinions of the topic from dermatologists who highly agreed with the risk of transmission this way. I also have other questions please please

1- if she touched her face and touched my eyebrow is that a risk? I started mixing memory with imagination and fear and I am so scared right now

2- Does herpes always come with fluid filled blisters? Does it ever come as a flat peeling pimple? No fluid? Does it ever come as a white hard flat pimple that when pecked only peels hard like skin?

3- I read almost all questions on the forum and I was optimistic about your opinion of how it is not as easy as we think the virus is transmittable, you insisted that it does not transmit through objects like straws, tweezers, cups or spoons in the lack of active sores. Does that make me with this event far from contracting it?

5- When people smoke and exhale around other people’s faces, does that transmit herpes?

6- when people talk and spit while speaki my and you can see it coming toward the face. Is that a risk? Some people do have a lot of dropelts

7- If I pass ten days and more without an infection, does that mean that this incident did not cause me to have HSV? I know that many people carry it not knowi my they do, but I am just asking about this encounter

I am sorry I am so obsessed with it, I was hit mentally once she comfortably said “herpes” to me after doing my eyebrows, what is sad about this transmission is that it was not from a partner but from a careless person, I apologize for my long questions and I really really thank you for the time taken

No problem, I know you were just sending me something that you had read on the line.

1- if she touched her face and touched my eyebrow is that a risk? I started mixing memory with imagination and fear and I am so scared right now
No, I don’t believe that is a risk

2- Does herpes always come with fluid-filled blisters? Does it ever come as a flat peeling pimple? No fluid? Does it ever come as a white hard flat pimple that when pecked only peels hard like skin?
Herpes does start as a fluid-filled blister correct it doesn’t come as a flat peeling pimple, no and it doesn’t feel hard under the skin either

3- I read almost all questions on the forum and I was optimistic about your opinion of how it is not as easy as we think the virus is transmittable, you insisted that it does not transmit through objects like straws, tweezers, cups or spoons in the lack of active sores. Does that make me with this event far from contracting it?
      Correct

5- When people smoke and exhale around other people’s faces, does that transmit herpes?
      No

6- when people talk and spit while speaking my and you can see it coming toward the face. Is that a risk? Some people do have a lot of droplets
No, it takes way more contacts than that

7- If I pass ten days and more without an infection, does that mean that this incident did not cause me to have HSV? I know that many people carry it not knowing my they do, but I am just asking about this encounter
I believe now you are well past 10 days from the experience and if you’ve not developed herpes by now, I don’t think you will. Of course, I don’t know if you had herpes before this encounter or not but again, I don’t believe this encounter presents a risk to you. You are most welcome
