So I have had 3 sexual partners 1 a nurse who tests alot and is negative but we only performed oral around this time around 8/10/22 i took a herpes test both negative the reason i took it was red inflamed foreskin i was told it was balantitis or contact dermatitis. Second was un protected but she said she tested negative and I was her only partner. my last interraction With her was the end of November. The third partner was dec.17 2022 and we performed oral but had sex with a condom like a few days after I noticed my foreskin smelled funny and was a little red and irritated and itchy(I’m uncircumcised btw) she had went to a lab for her obgyn 3 days prior with no partners in between and both her igg tests were negative. But me being a worry wart I went and got tested again Dec 27 2022 well I got my results yesterday and my readings were negative for hsv1 <.90 igg but positive for hsv2 at 1.13 igg high but the secondary hsv 2 igg inhabition ,IA said in range in green the quest doctor called me and said hes not worried that the secondary test was negative and he believes the 1.13 was a false positive due to being so low and the secondary test is more accurate and on par with the western blot and that i shouldent be concerned since is was negative that they do supplemental testing in case of false positives in the low range. since then I’ve been back with my gf and had sex and she has no symptoms she’s going to get tested soon but I’ve never had symptoms on my genitals I’ve had a small pimple/forydce spot on my balls that I popped and it had a white head in it which freaked my out but other then that the only thing that freaked me was the red and itchy foreskin but I’ve never had sores or blisters or anything of that sort. If my gf results come back negative should I get re tested or accept my doctors words and believe I’m negative is 1.13 high?

Since you had testing only 10 days after the contact with partner #3, I think it was a bit early for the test to be accurate. Condoms reduce transmission from females to males by 65% so certainly helpful but not perfect. I would recommend that you retest at 6 weeks out and see what your status is.
The inhibition assay is not on a par with the western blot, for the record.
I think it is very likely that the test you had done in December was a real negative, but again, the timing wasn’t the best.
