False Positive HSV2?

Hi, I’m coming here today because I’m confused I need help . To start off , July 30th I went to the doctor and got tested not because I thought I had any symptoms or bumps but because he just simply implied me, I don’t think I have herpes at all but I took the blood work and on August 1st it said I was 1.09 ( H) borderline equivocal/positive, that left me confused and distraught I did that test with Quest. What’s scaring me is that The only thing I’ve experienced this year was Jock itch and Chafing down there & these results making me question a lot the jock itch cleared so , other than that I was fine. The last time I had unprotected sex was May 30, July 30th made 2 months after I had got the test but I still feel like it should’ve been higher if it was a true positive From that time or am I wrong ?

fast forward I waited about 2 months after to get tested again which was Sept 28/29 beginning of October, They re tested me for the same IGG test but with LabCorp and it came out 1.45 positive so am I truly positive? I’m scared , What are the chances this can be a false positive ? I’m stressed .. I didn’t get a confirmation test either but im just thinking since I took the test the end of sept/oct and the last time I had unprotected sex was May 30 would it be higher? it was 1.45 (H). It’s November 14th now and I’m scared I don’t know what to do and I still don’t think I have herpes at all. I was told once if it’s over a 1, your positive & there’s no chance of being negative & if it is negative it’s false & then another doc told me the closer it’s to 1 , it can be a false positive or new infection and the closer to 10 is a true positive, the way my body is I feel like I would know if I had herpes , I wouldn’t be here confused . I’m lost please help me .

( & if it was a new infection wouldn’t I be experiencing things? Would the number be higher ? I don’t think I’m going through a new infection)

I want to mention I did have yeast infection a little frequent after I got pregnant Nov 2022 of last year due to body changes it was the first time for me, I’m guessing the yeast infection gave me jock itch cause it’s fungus it was just flaky itchy and chafing, it gave me friction cus I was wearing tight underwear too but I didn’t know that for months until the end of June they told me it was Jock itch ..

& I did have bv once after I last had sex in May, To add I do have HSV 1 ( no outbreak) but that was a higher number could that make a cross reactivity? & I have positive ANA for rheumatoid etc , not sure which one I have but I was told that can trigger a false positive test too

Since May 30 was the last time unprotected, sept 29 would make 120-121 days since the last time I went to retest for the igg… What are the chances this can be false positive if it was at 1.45 after 120 days on Sept 29?

I’m guessing from May 30 til July 30 , when it was at 1.09 it was 58 days ? But I don’t think I have herpes at all , this test is scaring me and other doctors make me feel like there’s no chance of being negative. they say you can have herpes and not get symptoms but I don’t think I have it at all, I know my body & they making me feel like I have it when I don’t think I do ,I shaved when it wasn’t fully gone I was just sweaty , & fungus & sweat don’t mix , so when I shaved the follicle was a little red but not sores red, more like irritated hair follicle with a dot of hair in the middle of it, I do have eczema too , but it was no puss ,no bumps, no pain nothing and haven’t had it since I cleared the jock itch a while back now.

It would be 169 days from May 30 to Nov 16 now , and I haven’t experienced anything , I thought the last igg I took was the confirmation test at that time , so I haven’t went this month , idk if the stress is causing my nerves to go all over ? but other than that I’ve been fine so I’m confused please help I need your opinion

HSV1 : 9.26
Hsv2 : 1.09

Sept 29: LabCorp
HSV1 : 8.40
HSV2 : 1.46

What do you think ? Both of them went up and down so could this mean it can be a chance of this being false? Like it cross reacted.

Your September 29 IgG for HSV 2 is a low positive and a very low positive. There is an 85% chance that this is a false positive. The herpes western blot would provide clarity here but I think there is a good chance that the HSV 2 index value represents cross reactivity with your HSV 1.

Thankyou, is cross reactivity prossible ? could it be possible that it could be a false positive if I last had unprotected in May? for it to be 1.45 in September ? If I was truly positive ? ,

I’ve been having this chafing feeling for a before I found out I had jock itch & it comes after my period, more like a light stinging within my hair follicles no bumps or discharge, I cleared up my jock itch but it still has a chafing feeling from time to time. I was told to keep on top of chafing as it comes & go but looking up stuff online is making me question a lot & my vagina twitch/throbs sometimes, & I tested negative for all stds , But I also sit a lot so I’m not sure if it could be vulvodynia ? I just don’t think I have herpes but looking things up is scaring me
