Hi Terri, this is a follow up question from my previous question.
My question yesterday was about how my hsv1 number had slowly moved 0.78 to 1.54 over a 4 month period and you reassured me that it wasn’t from a handjob and mostly from a childhood cold sore.

My doctor prescribed me valtex just to be sure. He said it can’t hurt anything.
      1. Should I start taking daily antivirus medicine to suppress The virus.
2.Does the value number usually come back down after a period of time?
      3. Should I retest at some point to see if it continues to climb? or just leave it be and not worry about it?
      4. How does any of this change the relationship I currently have with my wife and our sex life?
      5. Terri, isn’t it just a little strange that all of this started taking place just a few days after receiving a message? The reason I ask this is because, can an act such as a handjob trigger an awaken a virus that already exists within me?
Thanks again you’re the Best Terri

Your HSV 1 index value is in the low positive range now and should be confirmed with the western blot. If you are truly positive for HSV 1, that number will vary some each time you test. No two values are alike, most often
If you want to know for certain if you have HSV 1, you should obtain the western blot. Or you can accept this positive and take antiviral medicine but since you have not been recently infected, I don’t really see any point in changing things with your family at this point, do you? You can discuss this with your wife if you wish, of course.
As I mentioned , we don’t even know if this is a true positive and if it is, it is not new. The numbers can vary greatly between draws.

      Terri
