I was tested in 2014 and it was negative.
I was tested again 2 weeks ago and got my results yesterday and found out I am positive for HSV-2 and negative for HSV-1 but I have no symptoms for either. I also had back surgery in late March and they ran multiple blood test and nothing was brought up to me.Me and my partners have both tested before and we did grind or rub on May 31st. I discovered a small bump just 1 bump…and Wednesday i was tested and the doctor checked it out and thought it was nothing since it cleared up in a day or 2 it was gone.
Me and my partner are very confused. I really belive its a false positive we both have no symptoms so I can’t understand how and why.
My question what should I do now? I already ordered a western blood blot. If I can’t find a doctor can you guys help me? I live in Georgia.
The clinical just gave me a brochure and gave no advice or anything jus “here you go you have hsv-2.

You can try to find out the index value of the original antibody test. How did you order a western blot?

I found a post with the number and ordered it from the college.
Sorry…typing this on my phone and its been stressing me out.
When should I restest again.
Timeline of events before we did anything I was tested negative in 2014. We always made out and on May 31 2015 we did Oral to one another and rub genitals without a condom but did use a condom during intrecourse. A days past I notice 1 pimple on the shaft of the penis and went and got a few days after but it went after 1 or 2 days. The doctor believe it was nothing and look and didn’t see anything. Me and my engage in more rubbing without a condom the next day I go pick up my results because they are ready and that when i found out. So far no outbreaks or symptoms. My partner does get cold sores and fever blister but I got tested negative for hsv-1. She is going to get tested next week.
I will call the clinic and find out more on what they did.

This could certainly be a false positive, given everything you have told me so far. Where do you live? We can try to sort this out.

We can order a western blot for you in Georgia to be drawn at a lab near where you live or work. It is a simple process and may put your mind at rest. You just need to call the clinic to set up a phone consultation for a western blot and we will take care of the rest, if you decide this is what would be helpful to sort out this testing question.
