Teri,
Let me start from the beginning. On September 23 I had an encounter with a man that I had met online. We only preformed oral sex on each other. For weeks after this I had no symptoms. I then met who is now my boyfriend. About 5 weeks after the initial encounter I had gotten a coldsore which i shrugged off as no big deal as I have gotten cold sores for the past 20 years a couple times a year. After the coldsore has gone away I had sex for the first time with my boyfriend. He had kissed me and then gone down on me. The sore itself was gone, but the skin was a little pink. I honestly should have known better. About 3 weeks after that I had weird burning sensations in my vagina. I went to the dr, got tested and everything came back negative. (No hsv test) no bacteria, no yeast, no other stds. The burning continued and I proceeded to see a gynocologist who told me it is near impossible for me to give myself hsv1, or get new hsv1 in my genitals. Upon being examined by both practitioners I had no lesions. Just burning. Blood tested for hsv. I was negative for hsv2 but positive for hsv1 as I had suspected. I had a coldsore 8 weeks before taking the test so I assumed it would come back positive. Burning continued and sometimes would be relieved by over the counter “rephresh”. Another symptom I was experiencing was a crawling feeling. Not itchy, not tingly. But like a small bug was crawling around my genitals. But again, never any lesions. Continued getting tested and came back with a positive test for a serious bacterial infection. Treated that, symptoms continued then I tested positive for strep b. Treated that. Things have been fine for about two weeks and then I started feeling the crawling feeling again- mind you I usually get this crawling feeling after my boyfriend ejacultes inside me. It has been about 5 months since this has all started and it’s been pretty chronic. What do you think of this situation? Every doctor is saying no to hsv genitally. -

Also, would Herpes symptoms last this long? 5 months seems like an awful long time. I may add that I have been going though a crazy amount of stress at work and with my family. Also this issue in itself has caused me MAJOR anxiety. To the point I cannot leave my house. I will also add that my boyfriend has 0 symptoms and has had 0 symptoms this entire time. I have never had so much as bv before. I’ve never had genital issues. Could it be that I am sensitive to my partners sperm? Also, since I do have active hsv1 sores on my lips don’t you think that I would have sores on my genitals as well? Since I am symptomatic?

I totally agree that you were acquiring genital HSV one infection would be extremely unlikely and herpes symptoms don’t last for five months. I think you should explore other causes for these symptoms if they are really bothering you that much but take herpes off your list. If you have anxiety to the point that you cannot leave your house over this particular issue, I sincerely hope you will seek professional help and anxiety medication.
